Our shop is tucked away in the middle of Sadar Bazar, specifically at 65/15 in the Naya Bazar section. If you know this area at all, you know exactly how packed and loud it gets every single day. We spend our mornings opening up wooden crates and checking whatever stock came in on the trucks overnight. Trading is really just about being here when people need stuff. We deal with all kinds of goods that move through this market. It involves a lot of walking back and forth between the stalls. The building we are in is quite old and the stairs are narrow and steep. We’ve been at this address for many years now. Sometimes the tea man comes by twice before we even get a chance to sit down or take a break. It’s just the way things go in Naya Bazar. We don't have a big fancy office with air conditioning. It’s mostly just rows of shelves and a wooden desk covered in a lot of loose papers and bills. People stop by all day to talk about prices or just to say hello while they’re passing through. We see the same faces every morning and evening. It’s a real community here. We handle all the paperwork and make sure the deliveries go out on the cycle rickshaws. It can get very chaotic when it rains and the lanes get muddy, but we manage to keep things moving. It’s a simple, busy life.
