Select Poultry Farm

Working at Select Poultry Farm means getting used to early mornings. We are located at B-4/6B in Kesavpuram, right on Lawrence Road in Delhi. If you’ve been around this part of the city, you know it’s a major hub for trade and transport. It’s loud, it’s crowded, and there are trucks everywhere. Our place isn't something you'd see in a magazine. It’s a working farm and distribution point, so it smells like the country even though we’re in the middle of Delhi. We deal with chickens and eggs, and that’s a seven-day-a-week job because the birds don't take holidays. I spend most of my time checking the stock and making sure the deliveries are ready to go out to the markets. The office is just a small room with a fan and a stack of crates outside the door. It gets very hot in the summer, and the smell can be strong, but you get used to it after the first week. We aren't trying to be the biggest company in India; we just want to make sure the local shops get what they need every morning. There’s a lot of lifting and moving things around. It’s hard on the back, but it’s honest work. We don't have any fancy advertisements. People know us because we’ve been on Lawrence Road for ages. It’s a busy, messy, and very real business. We just keep the supplies moving and the birds fed.
