Shree Mahaveer Khad Veej Bhandar

Our shop is in the Azadpur area, inside the Sarp Bhawan Commercial Complex at B-105. It’s right in the middle of all the action near the big fruit and vegetable market. At Shree Mahaveer Khad Veej Bhandar, we mainly sell fertilizers and seeds to farmers and local growers. The air inside the shop always smells a bit like earth and chemicals because of all the bags we have stacked up. We keep the seeds in smaller packets on the shelves, while the heavy fertilizer bags are piled on the floor. It’s a lot of heavy lifting when the delivery trucks arrive. I usually have a lot of dirt under my fingernails from checking the quality of the seeds. Farmers come in from the outskirts of the city, and they usually have a lot of questions about what will grow best in the current season. I’m not an expert, but I’ve been doing this long enough to know what usually works. The commercial complex is always busy, and finding a place to park is almost impossible most days. We don't have any fancy air conditioning, just a couple of ceiling fans that hum all day long. My desk is covered in receipts and old calendars. It’s a simple business, but it keeps me occupied from sunrise until the market starts to quiet down in the evening.
