Ganesh Beej Bhandar

You can find Ganesh Beej Bhandar over in Darya Ganj, near the Minto Road area, specifically around the Hostel 3 and 4 buildings. It’s an old part of the city, and our shop fits right in with the surroundings. We have been here for a good while now, supplying seeds to people who still like to grow their own food or have small plots nearby. The shop is small and the shelves are packed tight with all kinds of packets and jars. It smells like earth and dried herbs inside. We don't have fancy air conditioning, so the front door stays open most of the day to let a breeze in. Customers usually stop by on their way home or during their lunch break. We see a lot of the same faces every season. We don't do much advertising; people usually find us through word of mouth or just by walking past on Minto Road. The space is a bit cramped, especially when we get a fresh delivery of sacks that need to be sorted. Sometimes we sit on the wooden stools out front when things are slow. It’s a simple business. We sell the seeds, give a little advice if someone asks, and keep track of our inventory in a big handwritten book. We don't have any high-tech systems here. Just a scale, some bags, and plenty of seeds for the next planting cycle. It’s a steady way to live and stay connected to the land.
