Shree Laxmi Dairy Farm

Our place, Shree Laxmi Dairy Farm, is at E - 120/2, Gali No. 13 in Rama Vihar. It’s a typical local spot in a narrow lane. We start very early in the morning, usually while most people are still asleep. There is a lot of heavy lifting with the milk cans and making sure everything is clean. The lane gets a bit muddy when it rains, which makes things a bit difficult, but we manage to get through it. It’s a noisy place in the mornings with the delivery bikes coming and going. We don’t have a big marketing team or anything; we just provide what the local families need. Our space is basic—just what’s needed for a dairy. There’s always a bit of a smell of fresh milk and cattle around, which you get used to pretty quickly. We have a few people helping out with the distribution and the cleaning. It’s hard work and your back definitely feels it by the end of the shift. We don’t really have an office as such, just a small desk where we keep track of who owes what. It’s a simple business based on the neighborhood. We know most of the people who come by to pick up their daily supply. It’s not a fancy life, but it’s what we do here in Rama Vihar. We've been here for years and the routine never really changes much. The cat that hangs around the gate usually gets a saucer of milk too.
