Roshan Mandi in Nazafgarh is where we spend most of our time, specifically at Door No Rz-25. If you know the mandi, you know it’s a place that starts moving before the sun even comes up. We are usually there very early, getting the space ready for the day’s trade. There’s a lot of shouting and noise as the goods arrive, and we have to stay sharp to keep everything organized. Our place is basically a big room for storage and a small corner with a table and a few chairs for the accounts. We don’t bother with much decoration because it just gets covered in grain dust anyway. We use a lot of handwritten notes to keep track of who owes what and what needs to go out on the next truck. It can be a bit chaotic during the peak season, but we have a rhythm that works for us. We drink a lot of tea to stay awake during the long shifts. Nazafgarh is a busy hub, and we’re just one small part of the network that keeps things moving. It’s physical work, and our backs often ache by the time we lock the shutter for the night. We aren't trying to be anything other than what we are—a reliable spot in the market where people can get their trading done without any fuss or unnecessary delays. It is just the way we operate.
