Shivani Bhargava

We are located at 3 Bhargava Lane in Civil Lines. It’s a much quieter part of town compared to the main markets. The lane is narrow and lined with trees, which makes it feel a bit hidden away. Our workspace is in an old house that has been converted. It has a lot of character, with high windows and heavy wooden doors. We spend most of our time designing and putting together different collections. There are sketches pinned to the walls and fabric samples draped over the backs of chairs. It’s not a typical retail shop where things are displayed on mannequins in a window. It’s more of a studio where the creative work happens. We have a small team of people who help with the details. The atmosphere is generally calm, though it can get hectic right before we finish a new project. We make a lot of tea and usually sit in the small courtyard when the weather is nice. It’s a peaceful place to work. We don't really do much advertising; people mostly find us through word of mouth or by knowing the family name. It’s a simple, honest way of doing things in a beautiful part of the city. We just focus on our own work and let the days go by quietly. It is a nice change from the rest of the busy city.
