Jai Xports

Our unit is B-1205 in Shastri Nagar. It’s tucked away a bit, but once you find it, it’s a busy little place. Jai Xports is what we call ourselves, and we’ve been working out of this building for a few years. Shastri Nagar is always full of life, and our street is no different. There are always people moving things and bikes zipping past. Inside our space, we have a few long tables where we sort through the goods. It’s not air-conditioned, so we keep the windows open, which means we hear everything happening outside. We do a lot of counting and re-counting to make sure the export orders are right. Sometimes we stay late when a big order needs to go out by morning. We drink a lot of tea while we work. The walls could probably use a fresh coat of paint, but we are too busy to deal with that right now. It’s a functional space, nothing more. We have a rhythm to how we pack things, and everyone knows where the tape and labels are kept. It’s hard work, and the days can be long, but we’re used to it. We don't have a fancy website or a big team, just a bunch of us getting the job done. We just keep our heads down and worry about the next shipment that needs to go to the port. That’s how we’ve always done things here in the neighborhood.
