Sanjeev Boutique

Sanjeev Boutique is located over at Ak-3 in Shalimar Bagh. It’s a residential area, so it’s a bit quieter than the main markets. We started this small place to handle tailoring and some ready-made pieces. Most of the time, the shop is full of fabric scraps and measuring tapes. We have a couple of machines running in the back, and that humming sound is pretty much the background music here. People from the neighborhood come in with their own cloth pieces and a rough idea of what they want. Sometimes they bring a picture on their phone, and we see what we can do. It’s not a big fancy studio. We have a mirror on the wall and a small trial area curtained off. There’s always a pile of clothes waiting to be hemmed or having buttons sewn on. We try to keep things moving, but sometimes a complicated design takes longer than we thought. The sunlight comes in nicely through the front door in the afternoon. We know most of our customers by name since they live just a few blocks away. It’s a lot of sitting and sewing, then standing up to talk to someone who dropped by to check on their order. We just keep at it, day after day, making sure the fit is right.
