Saini Khadh Bij Bhandar

I run Saini Khadh Bij Bhandar over at number 479 in Raghubarpura, which is part of the Gandhi Nagar area. We mostly sell different kinds of seeds, fertilizers, and some basic tools for gardening or small-scale farming. Even though we are in a very busy and urban part of Gandhi Nagar, people still come to us looking for seeds for their little garden plots or roof pots. The shop always smells like earth and some chemicals, which is something I’ve grown used to over the years. I keep the heavy bags of fertilizer stacked in the back room because they take up a lot of space. The front of the shop has glass jars filled with different seeds for vegetables and flowers. I spend a lot of my time talking to customers about the best time to plant certain things. I’m not a professional expert, but I’ve learned a great deal just by doing this for so long. Some people come in very confused about why their plants are dying, and I try my best to help them find the right fertilizer to fix the problem. The shop itself is quite old now and the wooden counters are worn down from years of use. It’s often a bit dark inside because the building next door is very tall. Raghubarpura is a crowded neighborhood with very narrow lanes. It is a lot of work every day.
