Pummy Sweets Corner

If you walk through Dilshad Garden, you will probably find us by the smell of the syrup. We’ve been running this sweets corner for quite some time now. It’s a family thing, really. My uncle started it and now we all just chip in. We spend most of the morning frying things and getting the milk ready for the desserts. The kitchen is small but we make it work. Customers come in for a quick snack or to take a box of laddoos home for a party. It gets really hectic during the festivals, almost too much to handle, but we manage. We don't use any big machines, just the usual pots and pans. Sometimes the floors get a bit sticky because of all the sugar, so we are always cleaning up. We have a couple of benches if someone wants to sit for a minute and eat their samosas hot. It’s not a fancy restaurant, just a place to get something sweet or salty. We know most of the kids from the school nearby who stop by for a treat. The regulars know exactly what they want before they even step inside. We don’t change the menu much because people like what they like. It’s just us making food every day and hoping people enjoy their snacks while they walk home. We have seen a lot of people grow up around here while they were coming in for milk cake.
