Prahallad Sahoo is my name. I’m involved with the supply chain side of things, specifically around the Delhi NCR region. I’ve spent a lot of time working in and out of warehouses and logistics hubs. It’s not a glamorous job at all. It’s mostly about tracking shipments and making sure things are where they need to be on time. I work with Reliance Supply Chain Solution, but my day is very hands-on. I’m not sitting in some air-conditioned ivory tower with a view. I’m usually on the ground, talking to drivers and warehouse staff who are doing the heavy lifting. The NCR area is huge and the traffic is a constant challenge for everyone. You learn to plan your day around the jams on the ring road. My office is a functional space, nothing more. It’s got maps on the walls and plenty of old coffee mugs. We don't do much in terms of fancy presentations or corporate talk. We just focus on the movement of goods and solving problems. It’s a lot of phone calls and checking digital schedules. I’ve been in this line of work for years. You get a feel for the rhythm of the trucks coming in at night. It’s a 24-hour business, really. I don’t use big words to describe what we do. It’s just logistics. We make sure the boxes move from point A to point B without too much trouble. It’s tiring work but it keeps you busy and focused.
