Our office is located at Naya Bazar, Nai Basti, right at number 2601. If you know Naya Bazar, you know it’s the heart of the whole trading scene here. The building is old and the stairs are quite narrow, but we’ve been here for a long time. It’s always crowded with laborers carrying heavy sacks on their backs. We spend most of our day on the phone or checking the latest rates on the computer. It’s a lot of back and forth with suppliers and people asking about shipments. The air always smells like spices and grains from the warehouses nearby. We don’t really have a showroom or anything like that, just a functional space with a few desks and a lot of filing cabinets. It’s pretty hectic in the mornings when the market first opens up. We have a small kitchen area where we make tea for anyone who drops by to talk business. Sometimes the internet is slow, which makes the work pile up, but we manage to get through it. We aren't trying to be anything we’re not; we just handle the logistics and the paperwork for the goods moving in and out of the city. It’s a lot of coordination and making sure the trucks are on the right route. By the end of the day, we’re usually pretty tired, but the work never really stops in a place like this. It is just the way things go in this part of town.
