If you ever come down to Gali Raghu Nandannaya Bazar, you know how crowded it gets. We are up on the second floor at number 2647. Lajwanti Exports is tucked away there amongst all the other shops and traders. It’s a lot of climbing stairs every day, which keeps us moving I guess. The bazaar is always noisy with people shouting and carts moving by, but once you get inside our space, it’s a bit quieter. We deal with exports, so there is always a mess of samples and packing tape lying around. It’s not a showroom; it is more like a working hub where stuff gets done. We started small and just stayed in the same neighborhood because we know everyone here. Most of our day is spent checking quality or making sure the labels are right. If a shipment is late, the whole mood changes, but we usually manage. It is just real people doing real work in a very old part of the city. We don’t have fancy furniture or a big reception desk. Just desks, chairs, and a lot of boxes. It gets hot in the summer, but we have a couple of fans that do the job. We just keep at it, day after day, making sure things move out of the gate. We take a break when we can, but usually, there's always one more thing to do.
