Operating out of D5/14 in West Vashist Park, we are right there on the edge of Pankha Road. It’s a busy stretch of road and the traffic can be quite a headache during the evening rush. Our space is pretty basic. We’ve got some shelves, a few racks, and a counter where we sit. Most of the time, the radio is playing softly in the background to drown out the noise of the buses passing by. It’s a small operation. We handle the inventory ourselves, which means a lot of lifting and shifting boxes when the shipments come in. The neighbors are good people, and we often share a tea in the afternoon when things quiet down for a bit. We don’t have a website or anything like that; we just open the doors and see who comes in. It gets a bit hot in the afternoons when the sun hits the front of the building, so we usually keep the blinds halfway down. The floor is tile and it’s a bit chipped in the corners, but it’s clean. We focus on getting things sorted for the customers who live around here. It’s a straightforward way to make a living. No big corporate meetings, just us deciding what to put on the shelves and making sure the shop is ready for the next day.
