Nalanda Modern Public School

If you walk down the Main Road in Sant Nagar you will find us at number 857. Nalanda Modern Public School is right there in the middle of all the Burari bustle. It is a busy spot and the traffic outside never really stops so we are used to the sound of horns and engines while we work. The building itself has seen better days but it is sturdy and keeps the sun off the kids. We have a lot of students coming from the local streets nearby and their parents are usually in a rush to get to work. Every morning the entrance gets crowded with bikes and scooters. We try our best to keep things orderly but it is a school so there is always a bit of chaos. The classrooms are filled with wooden benches that have been around for a long time. Our teachers don't use fancy gadgets mostly just chalk and their voices to get the point across. In the winter the sun hits the courtyard just right during the break and everyone tries to stand in the warm spots. It is not a quiet place by any means. Between the kids shouting and the bells ringing it can get quite loud. We are just a group of people trying to make sure the neighborhood kids learn something useful every day. It is a lot of hard work and sometimes we are quite tired by three o'clock.
