Faith Academy

We are located in the New External Affairs Hostel, specifically in room 406. It’s a bit of a trek to get up here sometimes, but it’s nice and quiet once you’re inside the room. S.L.S. Vaiphei is the one usually around to help anyone who comes by. We call ourselves Faith Academy, though it’s more of a personal teaching setup than a big school with a gate. We’re right near the R.K. Ashram in New Delhi. The area is always bustling with people and cars, but the hostel stays relatively calm. We focus on helping students with their lessons and giving them a place to learn where they won't be interrupted. It’s a modest space, just some books, a few tables, and some chairs we've gathered. We don't have a playground or a big cafeteria or anything like that. It’s mostly about the studying and the learning. I started this because I saw a need for more focused attention for the kids around here who were struggling. We have all sorts of people coming through, and we try to treat everyone like family. It’s not a business that makes us rich, but it feels good to see a student finally understand something they were stuck on. The address can be a bit confusing for first-timers, so we tell them to look for the Gole Market area first. It’s a tight-knit little community in this building, and we just keep our heads down and do the teaching work day by day, hoping to make a small difference.
