Mothers International School

Our school sits right within the Aurobindo Ashram area. It’s a bit of a different environment because of the surroundings. Things tend to be a little quieter here compared to the rest of the city. We have these old buildings that have seen a lot of students pass through their doors over the years. The trees are huge and provide a lot of shade, which is nice when the sun is out. You can hear the birds chirping most of the morning while the kids are at their desks. We don't use a lot of fancy technology or big screens. It’s more about the books and the talking. The staff here mostly lives close by, so we’re all part of the same little circle. We don't have big flashy signs out front. People just know where we are. During the breaks, you’ll see everyone sitting out in the courtyards or walking along the paths. We try to keep the place clean and orderly, but with so many children, there’s always a bit of a mess somewhere. That’s just part of running a school, I suppose. It’s a place where we take things one day at a time. We don't worry much about being the biggest or the most modern. We just focus on the day’s work and making sure the students are where they need to be. It’s a simple life here in the ashram, and the school fits right into that rhythm. We hope to keep things going this way for a long time to come.
