About Mohammad Taiyab Khan – Education in New Delhi
Working at Sansad Marg near the Supreme Court of India is definitely interesting. Mohammad Taiyab Khan is in room 201, which is a bit of a walk from the main entrance. The building is always full of people in a hurry, carrying files and looking at their watches. Our office is small and filled with the smell of old paper and ink. There’s a window that looks out toward the street, but mostly we see the tops of buses going by. We don't have a lot of space for extra things, so every corner is used for storing documents. It can get quite loud with all the traffic outside, especially during the middle of the day. We drink a lot of tea to stay focused while we’re sorting through everything. The desks are pushed close together because the room is narrow. We’ve been in this spot for quite some time, and the floor tiles are worn down in the path from the door to the desk. It’s a busy environment, but we try to keep our little corner organized as best as we can. We don't really do any promotion; the work just comes in and we handle it. Sometimes the elevator breaks down and we have to take the stairs, which is a bit of a workout. It’s just the reality of working in such an old, crowded part of the city. We enjoy the energy of being right in the middle of it all.
