Megha Sankhla Mittal

My office is at number 354 in the lawyers' chambers at the Delhi High Court. Megha Sankhla Mittal is the name I use for my professional work here. It’s a busy spot. Every day starts pretty early with a lot of walking back and forth between the different courts. The chamber itself is where I keep all the files and the computer. It’s a small room, but I’ve managed to fit in enough shelving for my reference books. There’s always a bit of a mess on the table because I’m usually working on three things at once. I don’t have a big staff or anything, just a quiet place to focus. Sometimes the printer jams right when I’m in a hurry, which is always frustrating. The hallways outside are always full of people talking about their cases. You can hear the hum of the city even inside these thick walls. I try to stay organized, but with the amount of paperwork that comes through here, it’s a constant battle. I spend a lot of time researching and drafting notes. It’s a lot of solitary work, honestly. People stop by for meetings, and we just clear a bit of space on the desk to look at the documents together. It’s a very practical, no-nonsense kind of environment. That’s just the way it has to be when you’re working in the high court system. I keep a calendar on the wall that is mostly scribbles and highlighted dates for hearings.
