Max Devki Devi Heart And Vascular Institute

I work in the Biomedical Engineering Department here at the Max Devki Devi Heart and Vascular Institute. We are located at 2 Press Enclave Road in Saket, which is a very busy part of New Delhi. If you’ve ever been to this hospital, you know it’s always crowded with people coming and going. Our department is tucked away from the main wards because we spend our time fixing and maintaining all the machines that keep the heart center running. It’s a lot of tools, spare parts, and technical manuals scattered across workbenches. It isn't a glamorous job, and our office doesn't look like the nice clean waiting rooms upstairs. We are the ones in the background making sure the monitors don't fail and the ventilators are calibrated right. It can get pretty stressful when a piece of equipment breaks down during a busy shift, but we just buckle down and get it fixed. The coffee machine in the canteen is our best friend during long shifts. Saket is a loud area, but inside the hospital, things have a different kind of intensity. We don't really deal with the patients directly, but we know our work matters for them. It’s just a group of us who are good with electronics and mechanics, trying to keep everything in working order in a very demanding environment.
