Karol Bagh Market is famous for being one of the busiest spots in New Delhi, and Sir Ganga Ram Hospital is right near the heart of it. We are situated near Jankidevi College, so there are always students and shoppers walking past. If you come here by car, you know the struggle of finding a spot in these narrow streets. The hospital itself is a large presence in the neighborhood. It’s a place that has seen a lot of history and it shows in the different wings that have been added over time. Some parts look newer while others have that old-fashioned Delhi architecture. The hallways are almost always full of people from all over the country. You hear a dozen different languages being spoken in the waiting rooms. It can be quite overwhelming if you aren’t used to the crowd. We have carts being pushed around and doctors rushing between buildings. The smell of the market—street food and exhaust—sometimes wafts in near the entrances. It is a loud, bustling, and very real place. We don't have a lot of time for making things look pretty because there is always someone new coming through the gates. It’s just a massive, working part of Karol Bagh that never seems to sleep or even slow down much.
