Mawana Sugar

Our spot is over at 168 Kanoon Goyan in the Bhoor area of Bareilly. It’s a busy part of town with a lot of old buildings and narrow streets. If you’re looking for us, you just have to find the neighborhood and ask for the sugar office. We spend our days handling the logistics of sugar distribution, which involves a lot of ledger books and phone calls to suppliers. The office has that old-school Bareilly feel to it, with high ceilings and heavy wooden furniture that’s been around for years. It’s often a bit dusty because of the traffic outside and the nature of the goods we handle. We don’t have air conditioning in every room, so we rely on ceiling fans that hum loudly all day. Most of our visitors are truck drivers or local traders coming in to check on orders or settle some paperwork. There is always a pot of tea going somewhere in the back. We aren't trying to impress anyone with a modern lobby or fancy brochures. We just make sure the sugar gets where it needs to go and that the records are kept straight. It’s a straightforward business run by people who have lived in U.P. their whole lives. The pace is steady, and we know most of the people who walk through our door by their first names.
