Malik Sweets House

Our place is called Malik Sweets House and we sit right on Parliament Street in Connaught Place, at B/1. It stays very busy out here because of all the people working in the offices nearby. Every morning, we start early, before the sun is even fully up, getting the big vats of milk ready. There’s always a bit of a mess with the flour and sugar, but we clean it up as we go, or at least we try to. People stop by for a quick tea or some snacks while they are walking to the metro or their jobs. Being at B/1 means we see all sorts of people, from tourists to regulars who have been coming for years. We don't have a big fancy setup, just some counters and the smell of frying samosas in the air. Sometimes the traffic on Parliament Street gets so loud you can’t hear the customers, so we have to shout a bit. The shop hasn't changed much over time, and we like it that way. We just keep making the sweets and serving the people who walk through the door. It’s a lot of standing on your feet all day, and by the evening, we are pretty tired. But Connaught Place is a lively spot to be in, and Malik Sweets House is part of that daily rush. We just try to keep things moving and make sure the food is ready for whoever comes in.
