Shyam Plasters

Shyam Plasters is situated in Mahavir Enclave at H-3/77 in the Bangali Colony area. We mostly handle plaster and other building materials that people need for their houses. The shop is a bit of a rough space because of the nature of what we sell. There’s white dust on almost everything, and our boots are usually covered in it by the end of the morning. We have bags of plaster stacked up against the walls and some tools scattered about. It’s not a place for sitting down; we are usually moving heavy stuff or checking the stock for the next customer. Bangali Colony is a place where there’s always some construction or repair going on nearby. People come in with their lists of materials, and we help them load up their vehicles. We use an old ledger to keep track of what goes out each day. The shop doesn’t have any fancy displays or bright lights. We just use the natural light from the doorway most of the time. Sometimes the neighbor’s dog comes and sits by the entrance for a bit while we work. It’s a lot of physical labor, and our backs often ache by the time we close up the shutters. We don’t do any advertising; people just know we’re here in Mahavir Enclave if they need supplies. We just try to stay organized and make sure we have enough material.
