Maa Kalyani Kitchenware Ltd.

We set up Maa Kalyani Kitchenware at S-55 in the Badli Industrial Area, Phase-I quite a while back. It’s a dusty part of town with lots of trucks and noise, but it’s where all the work happens. We make various kitchen items, mostly stuff people use every day in their homes. The machines in the factory are old but they still work fine if you treat them right and keep them oiled. My father used to say that if you take care of the tools, they’ll take care of you. We have a small group of workers who have been with us for years. We eat lunch together in the shade when it gets too hot inside. Badli can be a tough place to work in the summer, the heat is really something else. We don’t have a fancy showroom, just stacks of boxes and the smell of metal everywhere. People come to us when they need bulk supplies for their shops. It’s a simple business, nothing too complicated. Sometimes we run out of materials and have to wait for the delivery trucks to arrive through the crowded lanes. We try to keep things moving as much as we can. It’s not a quiet life, but it’s what we know. Most of the other units around here do different things, but we all know each other. It’s a real community of makers and laborers just trying to earn a living for their families.
