Our office for M S Tce Consulting Engineers Ltd is located in Dwarka, specifically in Flat No 253, Sector-19, Pocket-1. It’s a residential area mostly, so it’s quieter than the main markets of New Delhi. We have desks piled high with drawings and technical manuals. The walls are a bit bare because we spend more time looking at computer screens or site plans than decorating. Since we are in a flat, it feels a bit cramped when all of us are in at once. We usually have the news running in the background on a small TV. Dealing with engineering problems means a lot of thinking and scratching heads over mistakes in the drawings. We don't have a big reception desk. You just knock on the door and someone will let you in. The lift in the building works most of the time, but the stairs are better if you're in a hurry. We drink a lot of chai to keep going during those long afternoons when the sun is hitting the windows. It’s a decent place to work. We aren't doing anything world-changing, just making sure the numbers are right for whatever project we have on the table. Sometimes we have to stay late to finish a report for a client, but that’s just how it goes in this business. We like the quiet of Sector-19 compared to the rest of Delhi.
