We are located out in South Sankrail, which is a bit of a trek if you’re coming from the main part of Howrah. Being in the village and post office area means things move at a slightly different pace here. It’s quite green around us, which is a nice change from the city smoke. Our Larsen Toubro Ltd Eccd branch is tucked away here to stay close to the local projects. The building is simple and doesn't stand out much from the others. On rainy days, the roads around here can get a bit muddy and slow, but we manage. Most of the staff are locals or have been here long enough to feel that way. We spend our time going through schedules and making sure materials are where they should be. It’s not very glamorous work. There’s a lot of talking on the phone and writing down numbers in ledgers. We usually have the windows open when the weather allows. You can hear the sounds of the village while we work on our spreadsheets. It feels more like a community than a corporate office. We take our breaks together and talk about things other than work sometimes. It’s an honest way to spend the day. We don’t have a lot of visitors, mostly just delivery guys or people from the construction sites. It’s a humble spot but it serves its purpose for our Howrah operations. We like the quiet here compared to the city.
