Working in New Delhi is always a bit of a rush. Our office here for Larsen & Toubro Ltd. is right in the middle of all that energy. It is a big city with a lot of noise and people always moving fast. We spend our days managing various tasks and trying to keep up with the pace. The office isn't one of those shiny glass towers you see in the advertisements. It’s a functional space with a lot of history and a bit of wear and tear on the carpets. We have stacks of paper everywhere and the phones never seem to stop ringing for long. Most of us take the metro to get here because the traffic in Delhi is just too much to handle every day. We usually grab lunch from the local street vendors or bring something quick from home. It is a very busy atmosphere, but we have a good rhythm going. We don't use a lot of big words or have long speeches; we just talk about what needs to be finished by five o'clock. The summers are tough with the heat, and the winters get surprisingly cold, but the office is always full of activity. We just keep our heads down and focus on the day-to-day work. It’s a real, messy, and honest place to work in the capital. There is never a dull moment when you are trying to get things done in this city.
