Impex Crafts is right at K-64 Lajpat Nagar - 2, in the Central Market near the Bata showroom. Being near the Bata showroom is the easiest way to explain where we are, because the market is absolutely huge and it’s easy to get lost. It’s one of the busiest places in the city, so there is always a crowd outside our door. Our shop is filled with all kinds of craft items and samples stacked up on the shelves. It’s not organized in a way that a big corporation would like, but we know where everything is. We spend our days talking to customers who wander in and managing the orders that come through the phone. Since we are in the middle of Lajpat Nagar, it’s never quiet. You can hear the street vendors and the shoppers all day long. We don’t have a fancy mission statement or anything like that. We just like crafts and we like being in the middle of the market. Our staff is just a couple of guys who have worked in this market for a long time. We don’t do big promotions; the location does most of the work for us. Sometimes it gets so crowded that it’s hard to even get the delivery trucks close to the shop. We just make it work, moving things by hand if we have to. It's a bit chaotic but we wouldn't want to be anywhere else.
