Sabhyata

We are right in the middle of all the noise at Lajpat Nagar 2. Sabhyata is located at E-12 in the Central Market. If you have ever been to Delhi, then you know how crazy this market gets on the weekends. There are people everywhere and everyone is shouting for attention. Our shop is a bit small for all the stuff we try to fit inside it. We have racks and racks of clothes squeezed together. Sometimes it is even hard for two people to pass each other in the aisle without bumping shoulders. We spend the whole day folding and then refolding things because customers are always looking through the stacks. It is tiring work, but we like the energy of the market. We do not have a big back office or a place to hide. My desk is just a tiny corner tucked behind the main counter. We have been here at E-12 for many years now. The walls have some marks on them and the floor is a bit worn down from all the feet walking on it every day. We do not bother with fancy window displays or expensive lighting. We just put the clothes out where people can see the colors and feel the fabric. At night, when the heavy shutters finally go down, it is finally quiet. We stay back for a bit to sweep up and get ready for the next morning.
