Canny Collection

Canny Collection is located at A- 18 Bank Street, right opposite the Kali Mandir in Lado Sarai. The temple is a good landmark because otherwise people always get lost trying to find us. We have a modest shop floor and a small back room where we keep the extra stock. It’s a bit of a tight squeeze when we get a fresh delivery of clothes. We sell a bit of everything, mostly stuff that people need for everyday wear. The shop is usually quiet in the afternoons, which is when I catch up on the bookkeeping or fix the displays that have gotten messy. When the temple has a festival, the whole street gets packed and we usually just stand outside to watch the crowds. We have been in Lado Sarai for quite a while now, and we know most of the other shopkeepers on Bank Street. We don't have fancy mannequins or expensive lighting; we just hang the clothes where people can see them easily. Sometimes the roof leaks a little during the heavy monsoon rains, so we have to move the racks around quickly. It’s just a regular local shop run by people who live nearby. We don't spend money on big ads, we just hope that if someone likes a shirt they bought, they tell their friends. It’s a slow and steady way to run a business, but it works for us and our family.
