We run Alits Fashion out of House Number 275 on Street Number 4 in Khuriji Khass. It’s a residential area mostly, so it’s a bit different from the big industrial markets. We’ve set up our workspace right here, and it feels more like a home than an office. We have our machines lined up and enough space to cut the fabric. It gets a bit cramped when we have a lot of materials arriving at once. The street outside is narrow, so we have to be careful when we are moving stuff in and out. Most of the neighbors know us by now. We aren't doing anything flashy, just sticking to what we know, which is making fashion pieces. Sometimes we stay late when the deadlines are tight. The lighting isn't always perfect, but we make it work with some extra lamps. We don't really have a website or anything like that, we just focus on the physical work. There is usually tea brewing in the corner and someone is always busy with a needle or a pair of scissors. It’s a quiet life for the most part, except for the hum of the sewing machines. We like being in this part of town because it’s where we grew up. It’s a basic setup, but it gets the job done for us and the people we work with. No big corporate stuff here, just us trying to make a living.
