Kendriya Vidyalaya No 2

Kendriya Vidyalaya No 2 is situated in Paharpur. Like most schools in this area, we have a very set routine that hasn't changed much over the years. The morning assembly is usually the loudest part of the day, with everyone lined up in the yard. The building itself is quite plain, with long corridors and heavy wooden doors for the classrooms. We have high ceilings that help keep the heat away during the summer months. The teachers sit in the staff room grading papers and drinking tea when they aren't in front of a class. You see the students in their uniforms walking down the dusty paths to get here. We don't have a lot of shiny equipment, but we have enough benches and blackboards for everyone. The office stays busy with admissions and all the government paperwork that comes with being a Kendriya Vidyalaya. There is a lot of history in these walls, and you can see it in the old photos and the worn-out steps. At noon, the bells ring for the break, and the grounds fill up with kids playing or just sitting under the trees. It is a practical environment where the focus is on getting through the syllabus. When the last period ends, the whole place empties out pretty fast. We just lock the main office and head home, leaving the grounds to the quiet of the Paharpur evening. It is a simple, no-nonsense place to go to school.
