Kashmiri Lal & Sons is right in the middle of Naiwala in Karol Bagh. If you know the area, you know it’s the place for all things related to bikes and cars. Our address is 45/1887. It’s an old building, and we’ve been here long enough that the stairs are worn down. The street outside is always full of mechanics and spare parts. You can smell grease and petrol as soon as you turn the corner. We keep a lot of stock inside, and it’s dusty because of all the construction and traffic nearby. It’s a family-run thing, so there’s usually some shouting between the floors. We don’t have a fancy waiting area for people. Usually, someone just pulls up a stool if they have to wait. We’ve seen the neighborhood change a lot over the years, but our little corner stays pretty much the same. Karol Bagh is always loud, and Naiwala is the loudest part of it. We drink tea from the stall down the road multiple times a day. The shutters are heavy and loud when we open them in the morning. Sometimes we can't find a specific part right away and have to dig through the back room. It’s a messy business, but we like being here. People know where to find us when they need something specific for their vehicles. It’s just us doing what we know.
