Kanchan Ganga Seed Company is located at Azadpur 105. Being in Azadpur means we are right near the big fruit and vegetable market, which is one of the busiest places you’ll ever see. There are trucks everywhere and people carrying big sacks on their backs. Our business is about seeds, so we deal with a lot of farmers and people who sell to farmers. The office isn’t anything special. It’s mostly just a place to keep the records and talk to the people who come in from out of town. We have a lot of bags around, and the air always smells a bit like earth or dried grain. It’s a seasonal business, so some months are incredibly busy and we’re working around the clock, while other times it’s much quieter and we just sit around drinking tea. We’ve been at number 105 for a long time. We don't use big words to describe what we do. We just get the seeds, make sure they are what they say they are, and pass them on. It’s a lot of talking on the phone and checking the weather reports. The floors are usually a bit dusty from the market outside, but that’s normal for Azadpur. We just show up, do the work, and hope for a good harvest for everyone. It’s a basic way to make a living, and we’re okay with that.
