Jay Sarees

Jay Sarees is located over in Maha Veer Enclave, specifically in Bengali Colony. We are on the first floor of building H- 4/107. It is more of a neighborhood setting than a big commercial district. The stairs up to the first floor are a bit narrow, so you have to be careful when carrying heavy bundles of sarees. We have been operating out of this space for some time now. It feels more like a home than an office because of the location. We spend our days unfolding and folding sarees, checking the prints and the borders. The room gets quite full when new stock arrives. We have a few cupboards and some racks to keep everything as neat as we can. Since we are in Bengali Colony, we see the same neighbors every day. It is a fairly quiet street most of the time, except when the school nearby lets out. We don't have a big sign outside, just a small one so people know they have the right flat. It is just a small family-run type of thing. We sit on the floor mostly while we work because it is easier to spread out the fabric. It is a comfortable way to work, even if the space is a little small for all the sarees we have. We keep a kettle in the corner for making tea throughout the afternoon.
