Jay Dee Exports

Being out here at A 35 on G T Karnal Road means dealing with a lot of dust and trucks. Jay Dee Exports is just one of many places in this Industrial Area, but we’ve made this corner our own. The sun hits the front of the building pretty hard in the afternoons, so we usually keep the blinds down. It’s a lot of coming and going here. You see the big lorries lining up on the road outside every morning. Our floor is usually covered in packing tape and scraps of cardboard because there’s always something being wrapped up. We don’t spend much time on decorations or anything like that. The fans hum all day long to keep the air moving, which helps when it gets really stuffy. We’ve got a small desk near the entrance where someone sits to check the papers, but mostly everyone is moving around. It’s not a quiet place, you can always hear a horn honking or a machine running somewhere nearby. We just do our work and go home. Sometimes we stay late when a shipment is delayed, just sitting around on the plastic chairs drinking cold water. It’s a practical kind of life out here. We don't have any big signs, just the number A 35 on the pillar so the drivers know where to turn. That’s pretty much the whole story of us. It is what it is.
