Kashmir Fab Collection

Kashmir Fab Collection is located down in the basement of building D-10 in Okhla Vihar. Being in Jamia Nagar, the whole area stays quite crowded most of the time. It can be easy to miss the entrance if you aren't looking closely for the sign, but once you go down the steps, the space opens up quite a bit. We have a lot of different fabrics and things tucked away in the back rooms. It’s not the most modern looking place, but it works for what we need and keeps the rent manageable. We spend a lot of our time sorting through the stock and making sure everything is in the right pile. The lighting in the basement isn't always the brightest, so we sometimes have to take things near the door to see the colors properly under the natural light. Most people who come here are from around the neighborhood or students from the nearby university looking for something specific. It gets a bit dusty because of all the fabric, but we try to sweep it out every morning before we start. It’s a family-run kind of thing, so there’s usually a few of us hanging around drinking tea and waiting for the next delivery truck to show up. We don’t really do any advertising. People just find us by word of mouth or by walking past the stairs on the street level. It’s a quiet life down here for the most part.
