Institute Of Hospitality & Management

The Institute of Hospitality & Management is located on the first floor of Marina Arcade, right in Connaught Place. Being in G-4, 5, and 6, we are in a very central spot that is easy for everyone to reach by metro. It’s an old building, like most of the structures in CP, so it has those high ceilings and thick walls, but it also means we are always fixing something. We have students coming in every day to learn about the hotel business and how to manage things in the service industry. It’s funny because we are teaching them about being professional while we are often running around trying to find a working marker or making sure the projector is plugged in. The classrooms get quite full and the noise from the street outside sometimes drifts in through the windows. We have a small staff of instructors and some office people who handle the paperwork. During the breaks, the hallway gets really crowded with students talking and heading out for snacks. It’s a busy environment and we don’t have much time for sitting around. We just try to get through the lessons and make sure the students understand what they need to do. It’s a practical kind of place, and being in the middle of the city means there’s always something happening right outside our door. We just keep things moving and focus on the daily classes. Sometimes it gets a bit chaotic with the traffic and the noise, but we manage just fine most days.
