You can find us up on the 7th floor of the Kanchenjunga Building on Barakhamba Road. It’s one of those busy spots in the city where everything is moving fast. Being in an office building like this is a bit different from a factory floor, but we still deal with the same engineering and industry stuff every day. The elevators take a while during lunch, so we mostly stay at our desks or meet in the small break room. We’ve been operating out of this location for a long time, watching the street change outside the windows. We handle a lot of paperwork and technical drawings here. Sometimes it feels like there’s too much mail and not enough time to read it all. Hndusthan Engineering & Industries Ltd. isn't a new name, but we try to keep things simple despite being in a big building. There are plenty of files stacked up and the phones ring more than we’d like. It’s a lot of coordination and making sure things are moving where they need to go. Working in this part of town means we’re right in the middle of everything. It’s professional enough, but it’s still just people doing their jobs. We go through a lot of tea while we work through the pile of tasks on our plates. It’s just how the office runs. We pack up in the evening when the city starts to slow down a little bit.
