Hira Lal Sweets

Hira Lal Sweets is just our little spot here at Inderpuri 235. My father started things years ago and we just keep going with the same old pans and stoves. It gets really hot in the kitchen during the summer, especially when we are frying up the morning batches. People come in early for breakfast stuff before they go off to work. We don't have fancy decorations or anything. The walls are a bit stained from the steam and we just use basic metal trays. Inderpuri is a busy place so there is always noise outside our door. Sometimes we run out of things by the afternoon because it is just a few of us working back there. We don't spend money on ads or flyers. Most people just know where we are because of the smell of the syrup and the fried dough. We spend a lot of time cleaning up at night after everyone leaves. It is tiring work but it is what we know how to do. The floor gets sticky no matter how much we scrub it. We use the same suppliers for milk and sugar that we have used since I was a kid. There isn't much to say other than we are here every day. If you walk past house 235 you will see us. We just focus on getting the orders ready for the local families and the shops nearby. It is a simple life.
