Hello Kids School

Our school is tucked away in Gali Number-3 in Shalimar Park. If you know Delhi, you know how these streets can be. Address 1466A is where we spend most of our daylight hours. It’s a small place, really. We’ve got some bright posters on the walls to make it look cheerful for the kids, but you can see where the paint has chipped near the floorboards from all the little shoes hitting them. Every morning starts with the sound of the metal gate opening and the neighbors moving their scooters so parents can drop off their children. It’s a bit of a tight squeeze in the lane. Inside, the rooms are filled with small plastic chairs and low tables. We spend a lot of time wiping down surfaces and making sure the toys are back in their bins. The staff room is basically just a corner with a kettle and some files stacked up high. We don't have a big playground, so we make do with the space we have. When it rains, the gali gets a bit muddy, but we just put out some extra mats at the door. It’s a local operation, and we know most of the families in the 110032 area by their first names. We focus on getting through the day, making sure everyone is fed and has their bags packed by the time the parents come back in the afternoon. It's a loud place, but it's ours, and we like the noise.
