Aavarnam

We are located at 10-12 Hauz Khas Village. If you have ever been down this way, you know the streets are narrow and filled with all sorts of small shops and cafes. It is a bit of a walk from the main entrance, but we like being in this part of the city. Aavarnam isn't a massive store. We have a few rooms where we keep everything, and it can get a bit tight when we have a lot of new things arriving. The old buildings here have a lot of history, which is nice, even if the walls are a bit uneven and the plumbing acts up. We don't spend money on big signs or fancy decor. We just have our things on the racks and a place for people to look around. Most of the day is spent folding fabrics or chatting with the other shop owners on the street. It’s a quiet life during the weekdays, but the weekends get pretty hectic with everyone visiting the fort and the lake nearby. We don't have a mission statement or a philosophy. We just open the shop, make sure everything looks alright, and help people find what they are looking for. It is a straightforward way to run a business. We have been in the village for a while and have seen it change, but we just keep doing what we do at our own pace. It is a good place to be.
