Hatinagar Gsfp School

Hatinagar Gsfp School sits in South Extension 2, right in the middle of the Leela Ram Market area at building G-17/4. If you know the market, you know it can get pretty loud and crowded, especially in the evenings, but during the day, we just focus on the schoolwork inside. We aren't some massive institution with a huge playground; we are a practical school fitting into the space we have. The building itself is quite solid, though it shows its age in some of the corners. We spend a lot of time organizing books and making sure the benches are straight. Our teachers are usually here early, grabbing a tea from the stall nearby before the students start arriving. It’s a primary school, so the noise levels can get high when it’s recess time. We don’t have a lot of extra staff for fancy things, so everyone chips in with the daily chores, like tidying up the entrance or fixing a broken latch on a window. Living and working in South Delhi means things move fast, but inside these walls, we try to keep things steady for the children. Most people around here just call us by the name on the board and know us as the school near the market. We don’t try to be anything we aren't, just a place for learning basics in a busy part of the city.
