Harsh Convent School

Our school is located in Mayur Vihar Phase 3, and we actually use two different spots, C-2 and B-6. It can be a bit of a walk between them, which keeps us on our toes throughout the day. This part of Delhi is very crowded with families and houses, so most of our students live just around the corner. The buildings are not new or flashy, they are just solid brick structures that have been around for a long time. We have to do a lot of maintenance like fixing the fans or painting the walls when they get scuffed up. The morning routine is always a bit hectic with the narrow streets getting filled with kids and rickshaws. Inside, it is a bit more orderly once the bell rings. We have the usual classrooms with wooden desks and teachers trying to get through the daily syllabus. There isn’t much space for a big playground, so the kids make do with what they have during their breaks. We spend a lot of time in the office handling all the admission forms and fee slips. It’s a very practical place to work. Sometimes the electricity goes off and we just have to open the windows and carry on. The parents here are mostly local people who we see at the market. It’s a very grounded kind of place for education. We just focus on the daily work and making sure the students are learning their lessons properly.
