About Hare Rame Hare Krishna Public Residential School – Education in New Delhi
We operate this residential school out in Sector-6, Dwarka. It’s a bit different from a day school because we have kids staying here throughout the term. The building has the classrooms on the lower levels and the dormitories where the students sleep on the upper floors. It’s a busy place from early morning until the lights go out at night. We have a kitchen where we cook meals for everyone, mostly simple stuff like dal, rice, and rotis. The kids have a routine they follow, which includes their study hours and some time for chores or playing. Dwarka is a planned area, so it’s a bit quieter than old Delhi, but there’s still plenty of traffic outside our walls. We have a bit of open space for the kids to get some fresh air, though it isn't a massive park. The teachers and the wardens live on-site or nearby to keep an eye on things. It’s a lot of work running a place where children live 24/7. We have to make sure the laundry gets done and the bathrooms stay clean. It’s not a luxury setup; it’s just a practical school for parents who need a residential option for their children. Sometimes things get a bit loud in the evenings when the kids are relaxing, but that’s expected. We just try to keep everything running smoothly and make sure everyone is where they should be. It is a long day for the staff, but we are used to it.
