Haji A M Motala Sarvajanik High School is tucked away in Dwarka Sector 17. We operate out of an MIG flat, specifically number 609, so it’s not your typical school building with big gates and a massive playground. Being on Purana Qila Road means we are right in the middle of a residential area. It makes things feel a bit more like home for the kids. People in the neighborhood are used to seeing students walking through the blocks in their uniforms every morning. It’s a high school, so things get a bit more serious with the older students preparing for their futures, but the atmosphere stays quite grounded. We don’t have a lot of bells and whistles here. The rooms are what you’d expect from a flat converted for teaching. We make use of every corner we have. Sometimes it gets a bit crowded when everyone is moving between classes, but we make it work. It’s been this way for a while now. The staff knows the families in the surrounding flats pretty well. It’s a quiet life mostly, except when the school bell rings or it’s time for the kids to head home. We just try to keep the focus on the books and the lessons. It’s a practical place for practical people. No one expects anything grand, just a decent place for the children to study and grow up.
