H D Memorial Hs Eng Me School is located right in the middle of Chandni Chowk at number 1, Sis Ganj. If you know Delhi, you know how crowded and lively this area is. Being in 110006 means we are surrounded by all the history and the constant movement of the market. The school itself is an English medium place where we try to keep things organized despite the chaos outside our doors. It isn't a massive campus with fields, because space in Chandni Chowk is hard to find. We use what we have. The classrooms are filled with students from the local families who have lived in this part of the city for generations. We focus on the basic subjects and follow the curriculum that's set out for us. It gets loud sometimes because of the rickshaws and shoppers nearby, but the kids are used to it by now. The teachers here are just regular folks who live around the city and commute in. We don't spend money on glossy brochures. Most people find us because they live nearby or heard about us from a neighbor. We keep the hallways clean and make sure the students have their notebooks ready. It’s a busy life here in Delhi 6. We just open the gates every morning, get the classes started, and do our best to make sure the day goes smoothly for everyone involved in the school.
