You can find Gvm English Medium School over in Karawal Nagar at B-51, Gali No 1. It is tucked away in a spot that most people might miss if they aren't looking for it. We’ve got a building that serves its purpose well enough. There’s no big gate or grand entrance, just the door where the kids come in every morning. The hallways are narrow and you can hear the teachers talking from one room to the next. It’s a small operation, really. We don't have a huge team, just a few dedicated people who show up and do the work. The focus here is on the books and the lessons. We use English because that’s what parents want for their children in this neighborhood. It’s not always easy, but we manage. The classrooms have fans that hum all day long and windows that let in the light from the street. We don't spend money on fancy decorations or advertisements. Most of our students come from the houses right around Gali No 1. It’s a tight-knit place. When there is a holiday, the whole street knows because it’s finally quiet. We take things one day at a time. The goal is just to help the kids learn their ABCs and math so they can do okay later on. It’s simple, honest work that we do here in this part of Delhi.
